Why Partner with Eleventh Element?

Physical Health Crisis:

  • We are overfed, undermoved, and deeply isolated
  • 75% of Americans are either overweight or obese.
  • Less than 25% of adults meet the CDC’s recommended levels of aerobic and strength training.

Integration of Body and Soul:

  • When the body is neglected, discipleship is incomplete.
  • The early church viewed the body as a “living instrument” of worship, not a distraction from the soul.
  • Our bodies are physical representations of several key spiritual disciples.

Necessity for Non-Traditional Church Expressions

  • We need new expressions of church that meet people where they are —not just where we hope they will return.
  • 4500 churches closed in 2023 in the US and only 3000 opened. (This is not an anomaly)
  • 40 million Americans have left the church in the last 25 years
  • Weekly Christian Church attendance is down from 45% in 1993 to 28% today.

Missional Opportunity:

  • We see a world where every workout, every lift, every conversation in the gym is an opportunity for the Gospel.
  • Over 65 million Americans hold a gym membership — far more than attend church weekly.
  • The Average gym goer spends 4+ hours/week in that environment — more than double what they spend in a typical church setting.
  • The fitness community represents the largest weekly gathering of unreached people in America — and they’re already built around habits, community, and transformation.
